STATESVILLE, N.C. — Police say one person was shot and an accused home invasion suspect was stabbed in Statesville.
Investigators say three suspects forcibly entered a home on N. Oakland Avenue in Statesville early Monday morning and began shooting.
A resident of the home was reportedly shot during the incident. Investigators say the residents of the home attempted to defend themselves and a struggle ensued with the shooting suspect. During the struggle, police say the accused suspect was stabbed.
The other two suspects reportedly ran from the scene. The only description released by police were that the other two suspects were two young black males.
Both men were taken to a local hospital and both underwent surgery for their injuries. The names of the victim and the suspect have not been released at this time.
