EDGE On The Clock: Washington, DC Offers Gender Neutral Drivers Licenses

CHARLOTTE, NC — Washington, DC is now the first in the country to allow drivers to get gender neutral drivers licenses.

LGBT groups started pushing for this back in February and say it’s for people who don’t identify as a man, woman, or transgender people. Supporters say the IDs help validate their existence.

Oregon will offer the same licenses in July, and California and New York are also considering the option.
