CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two adults and a child managed to escape a fire that broke out in their home Friday morning.
The fire, which broke out on Shorthorn Street, is believed to have been caused by a discarded cigarette, with flames reaching the home’s gas meter.
While the family was able to escape with no injuries, their home appears to be completely destroyed.
