CMPD Releases Body Camera Footage In Fatal Shooting Of Yaroslav Mosiuk

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — No charges will be filed against a CMPD officer who shot and killed a man in north Charlotte in March 2017, according to a news release sent by the District Attorney’s office.

Officer Brian Walsh will not be charged for fatally shooting Yaroslav Mosiuk after responding to a home on Justice Ave in reference to a mental health call made by Mosiuk’s sister.

Investigators say Officer Walsh saw Mosiuk in the driveway with a hunting rifle causing an imminent threat so he fired his weapon.
An autopsy revealed that Mosiuk was shot in the back. A hearing will be held Thursday at 2:30pm to see if a judge will release body camera footage of the shooting.
