5-Year-Old Recovering After Being Hit By A Car In SW Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — A 5-year-old boy is in the hospital after being hit by a car in southwest Charlotte.

The accident happened around 6:15pm at the corner of Nations Ford and Wiletta Drive. Police say the child was not in a crosswalk when he ran into the street.

He was taken to CMC-Main with non-life threatening injuries, and is expected to be okay.

Police say alcohol was not a factor and there are no charges for the driver related to the accident. However, police say the driver did have a suspended license and was arrested on that charge.
