Tree Knocks Power Lines Down on Car in Huntersville

HUNTERSVILLE, NC – A tree knocked a power lines down on a car with people inside in Huntersville Saturday night. Police closed Kerns Road near Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road.

Members of the Long Creek Fire Department responded around 7:30pm.

They found a tree down across Kerns Road and live power lines down on top of a car with four people inside.

They were able to get all those people out safe, with no injuries.

Several police officers were on scene until the road reopened just after 9:00pm.

Duke Energy reported nearly 70 power outages in the area.
