The National Transportation Safety Board will provide an update on the investigation into the fatal plane collision in Washington.
Representatives will meet with the media at 5:30 p.m. and can be viewed in the video player above.
Search and recovery efforts continue Friday to find the bodies of those killed in the deadly midair collision between a black hawk helicopter and an American Airlines airplane. The tragedy impacted people all over the country including in Charlotte where the flight crew was based.
There were 60 passengers and four crew members on the jet and three military personnel on the helicopter.
A report by the Federal Aviation Administration says staffing in the air traffic control tower was “not normal” at time of the midair collision near Washington.
The FAA is significantly restricting helicopter traffic in the immediate vicinity of Washington Reagan National Airport.
