One dead in single-vehicle wreck near Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – One person died following a single-vehicle crash near Spartanburg early Sunday morning.

It happened around 3:15 a.m. on Interstate 26 near U.S. 29.

Troopers said a Nissan Maxima was traveling west on I-26 when the driver lost control, went off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

The driver died at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation by the highway patrol.
