Late Tuesday, a backdoor cold front will push in bringing cooler air and increasing clouds Wednesday, especially north of I-85. Some light showers or drizzle possible as cold air damming sets up, keeping highs in the 40s and 50s across the region (a significant 20 degree drop from Tuesdays record challenging highs). The wedge won’t last long – by Thursday, temps rebound into the 60s and 70s again, but rain chances increase as a stalled front keeps things unsettled through the weekend.
