Woman Charged With Running Illegal Daycare In Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say they arrested a woman for running an illegal daycare in Charlotte.

Aqunietta White was arrested after police started investigating her involvement in an illegal daycare after a two-month-old was found unresponsive on October 20th, 2016 at a daycare on Green Street.

The infant was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.  The Medical Examiner’s Office determined the infant died as a result of suffocation.  No charges were brought against anyone at that time.

After the death, the Department of Child Development and Early Education launched an investigation into the daycare.

During the investigation, it was confirmed that White willfully operated a daycare in violation of the law, according to a news release.

White was arrested on July 11th, 2017 and charged with providing child care without a license.
