Hickory Police Searching For Speedway Robbery Suspect
HICKORY, N.C. — Police in Hickory are investigating an armed robbery at a local convenience store, on Wednesday night.
According to police, on July 12th, 2017, at about 11:19 p.m., officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Speedway Convenience Store, located at 1269 U.S. Highway 70 Southwest.
The store clerk advised police that a black male suspect entered the store and demanded money at gun point.
Once the suspect received the money, he stole the clerk’s vehicle and fled the scene.
The stolen vehicle was located shortly after the robbery at 2nd Street and 6th Avenue Place Southwest.
The suspect is still at large and is described as 5′ 8” and about 185 pounds. He was wearing a black plastic mask, black hoodie, long dark blue shorts, and black shoes.
