CHARLOTTE, NC — Former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker watched the President’s speech from the WCCB Charlotte newsroom so we could provide you with real-time reaction. He says it’s good the President is addressing the need to take on the ISIS threat, but has concerns at the amount of details given in Wednesday’s speech.
“I think tactically speaking, you take action first, then you talk about it afterwards. So I get a little bit uncomfortable with announcing our intentions to do things in Syria, and put boots on the ground in Iraq,” he said.
Swecker also says he would like to have heard about intelligence, and how the U.S. plans to track and deal with ISIS militants who may be coming back into the country.
