EDGE On The Clock: Trophy Hunters Kill Cecil The Lion’s Son

CHARLOTTE, NC — Trophy hunters in Zimbabwe have killed the son of Cecil The Lion.

Researchers were tracking 6-year-old Xanda with an electronic collar. A professional hunter killed him outside the Hwange National Park, near the same area where Cecil was killed in 2015.

Officials say there is a difference with this case, however. Cecil was lured from the park, but Xanda apparently wandered outside.

Xanda died in what’s being called a “legal kill.”
