Mother, Ex-Boyfriend Arrested For 2016 Death Of Infant

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the mother of Kingston Aistrop and her ex-boyfriend in connection with the 2016 death of the two-month-old infant.

Authorities have charged the child’s mother Amber Lane Scarborough, 17, and her ex-boyfriend Houston Ray McCarn, 19, with First Degree Murder and Felony Child Abuse Causing Serious Injury, for their involvement in the death of Kingston Aistrop, who was two-months-old at the time.

On July 20, 2016, Scarborough called 911 and stated that Aistrop was not breathing.

Investigators determined that the baby had recently suffered trauma to his body and questioned Scarborough and McCarn, but no arrests were made at the time.

Authorities continued to investigate the death and following an autopsy, witness testimony, and crime lab analysis, investigators obtained warrants for the arrests of Scarborough and McCarn on Friday, July 21, 2017.

Both suspects have been located and arrested and are being held at the Rowan County Detention Center without bond.
