CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man wanted for leading deputies on a chase and stealing a mountain bike with a gun may be hiding out in the Pisgah National Forest.
Trails between Asheville and the South Carolina border are closed while investigators search for the suspect, Phillip Stroupe.
Police say Stroupe is armed and dangerous. As a result, visitors are being told to leave and stay away.
