Police Capture Two Gang Members Wanted For Double Homicide In Salisbury
SALISBURY, NC — Police say the two gang members wanted in connection to a double murder over the weekend have been arrested.
Jalen Cook, 23, has been charged with two counts of Murder and one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Zakelo Duren, 23, is charged with one count of Inflicting a Felonious Riot. Police say the charges are in connection to the murders of Anthony Gill, 22, and Daquan Robertson, 23 Saturday morning.
According to officials, Duren turned himself in when he heard there was a warrant out for his arrest. Officials say Cook was spotted on Williams Street and tried to run, but police quickly caught up to him and took him into custody.
Robertson and Gill were both found shot at a home on South Church Street. Officials say Robertson was pronounced dead at the scene, and Gill later died at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Officials say an argument led to the shooting.
