Suspects Wanted After Shootout In Grocery Store Parking Lot

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are looking for the suspects who got into a shootout outside an east Charlotte Food Lion Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened around 11:25am in the parking lot of the Food Lion at 7004 E. W.T. Harris Boulevard. According to reports, someone in a dark colored sedan fired shots at another dark colored vehicle, at which point that driver returned fire. Both suspects then took off.

Police say a witness was sitting in his vehicle when a bullet hit. Investigators say it appeared to be a ricochet, and that driver was not injured.

According to officials, the two vehicles involved may be a Toyota Camry and a Volkswagen Passat. So far, police have not been able to locate either party involved.
