Homeowner Charged In South Charlotte Shooting
CHARLOTTE, NC — A south Charlotte homeowner is being charged after police say he shot a man twice Wednesday morning.
The shooting happened at a home on Stacy Boulevard around 7am. Police say Robert Campbell, 55, was at his home when he shot 42-year-old John Tchendo twice with a shotgun. Tchendo was taken to CMC with serious injuries, but is expected to recover.
Detectives say Campbell and Tchendo knew each other, and have had altercations in the past.
Tchendo, according to police, also has a lengthy criminal history. Tchendo was arrested Sunday night for communicating threats, and has charges dating back to 2015 that include communicating threats, damaging property, theft, and trespassing.
Campbell has been charged with Assault with Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.
