Mecklenburg County Health Department Changes Will Cost Tax Payers Over $4 Million

CHARLOTTE, NC — Changes to the Mecklenburg County Health Department will cost tax payers roughly $4.6 million.

The changes come after the department failed to notify nearly 200 women of pap smear results. The three year plan’s main focus will be on changes in management.

The county will work to restructure its executive leadership team, and work to upgrade the department’s medical records system. The $4.6 million will also cover consultants and additional staff.
