CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Area Transit System will launch its new microtransit service, CATS Micro, beginning Monday, Feb. 24.
CATS Micro is an on-demand, rideshare service that gets you where you need to go. It will start in northern Mecklenburg County, serving towns such as Davidson, Cornelius, Huntersville, and Charlotte.
CATS Micro will cost the same price as a bus fare or light rail trip at $2.20 per adult with no price fluctuations during rush hour.
“This part of Mecklenburg County is full of activity centers, jobs, education centers, healthcare and more. CATS Micro will help in connecting customers seamlessly to these areas as well as each other,” said Interim CATS CEO Brent Cagle.
CATS Micro will operate daily. Weekdays will be from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Weekends will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Riders can book CATS Micro through the CATS-Pass app or by phone at 704-336-7433.
