Study: Charlotte with 5th-most financial distress

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A new study revealed that Charlotte is the city with the fifth-most financial distress across the country.

The WalletHub report studied the 100 largest cities to find where financial struggles are most severe in the United States.

Overall, Charlotte ranked fifth-most distressed with a total score of 66.65, according to the WalletHub study.

  • 1st – Change in the Average Number of Accounts in Distress – Q4 2024 vs. Q4 2023
  • 6th – Average Credit Score (Q4 2024)
  • 26th – Change in Number of Bankruptcy Filings – Dec. 2024 vs. Dec. 2023
  • 25th – β€œLoans” Search Interest Index
  • 25th – β€œDebt” Search Interest Index
