14 Suspects Arrested On Drug Charges During ‘Operation Summer Heat’

ROWAN COUNTY, NC — More than a dozen suspects have been arrested, and several more are still wanted after a county wide drug round up codenamed “Operation Summer Heat.”

According to officials, the suspects have been involved in crimes ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. Since the operation began in May, 14 suspects have been arrested. Deputies say they’re still looking for seven more.

Lee Ellis, 66, Salisbury, NC: Possess with Intent to Sell/Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance, two counts Felony Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substances, two counts Trafficking Opium by Possession, Trafficking Opium by Sale, Trafficking Opium by Transportation, Felony Maintaining a Vehicle for Controlled Substances, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

- Officials say Moore was also out on bond from an earlier arrest where he was charged with Possess with Intent to Sell/Deliver Cocaine, Felony Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
