Coach Rivera Says Cam Won’t Play In The Preseason Opener

CHARLOTTE, NC — To no one’s surprise, Coach Ron Rivera announced Tuesday that Cam Newton will not play in Wednesday night’s preseason opener.

Coach Rivera says Cam’s throwing arm is not up to speed yet after he had surgery in March to repair a torn rotator cuff. While the star quarterback still has a month to prepare for the regular season, some fans are seeing this as a bad omen.
