Five people hurt after driver crashes into Southwest Charlotte pizza restaurant

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Five people are hurt after a driver crashes into a pizza restaurant in Southwest Charlotte Saturday afternoon. Emergency crews responded to Mod Pizza on Rivergate View off Steele Creek Road and took five people to the closest hospital with minor injuries. WCCB is still working to learn if people in the vehicle and in the restaurant were both injured. Police have not announced what caused the crash or if anyone will face charges related to the incident. The restaurant is boarded up and closed for repairs until further notice.
