LANCASTER, SC — Deputies have charged 25-year-old Travis Belk with the August 18th murder of 17-year-old Daquan Blackmon.
According to reports, Belk and Blackmon were riding in a vehicle together last Friday around 10:15pm when Belk began shooting at another person. During the shooting, Belk fired a shot that hit Blackmon.
Blackmon was taken to Springs Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Officials say he was then flown to a Charlotte area hospital where he later died.
Warrants were issued for Belk’s arrest charging him with Blackmon’s murder. Deputies say Belk was located in Chester County Thursday evening and taken into custody.
Officials say additional charges are possible for Belk and others.
