Investment Firm To Create More Than 300 Jobs

CHARLOTTE, NC —Β A major jobs announcement forΒ Charlotte. Β A global investment firm based inΒ TexasΒ says it plans to open an east coast headquarters here,Β creating more than 300 high-paying jobs by 2020.

The CEO of Dimensional Fund Advisors joined Governor Pat McCrory and city leaders for the announcement this afternoon in Uptown Charlotte.

Dimensional plans to initially lease space in Uptown then build a permanent headquarters.Β  The company chose Charlotte because of our strong financial services industry, our airport, and the quality of life.

“It’s, I think, a young city that is vibrant and kind of cool,” said DFA CEO David Booth. Β “We think people can have a, you know, great lifestyle here and have a great business opportunity.”

The average salary will be more than $147,000. Β Dimensional is expected to receive more than $10 million worth of incentives from the state over 12 years.
