Charlotte Fire Deploys Swift Water Rescue Team To Texas

CHARLOTTE, NC — North Carolina has deployed five swift water rescue teams to Texas.

FEMA officials say they are not sure how many people are still waiting to be rescued following the devastation from Hurricane Harvey. The teams, which include 18 people from the Charlotte Fire Department, will position across the affected areas using boats and other equipment to help people that are stranded or still trapped in their homes.

The Charlotte Fire Department plans to stay in Texas through September 9th.
