Man Arrested In Murder of UNCC Professor Appears In Court

The Latest:

Donny Franklin, the man accused of killing a UNC Charlotte professor, was in court Thursday.  The case was continued until January 25th.  No other details were released in court.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have arrested a man in connection with the killing of a University of North Carolina at Charlotte professor.

Donny Lewis Franklin is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of 35-year-old Jeanine Skinner.

Skinner was an assistant professor of gerontology and psychology at UNC Charlotte.

Skinner’s body was discovered in her apartment in southwest Charlotte Friday.

Franklin was identified as the suspect in her killing Friday night and is due in court Tuesday, September 5th, at 9 a.m.
