CMS Test Data Brings Back Mixed Results

CHARLOTTE, NC — The superintendent of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools says the district needs to work on literacy.

The announcement comes as state and national data released in September showed mixed results for CMS. The number of Char-Meck schools assigned an A or A+ grade remained consistent, with 15 schools earning an A+ and 10 schools earning an A.

However, the state CMS graduation rate has declined slightlity, along with the overall growth and proficiency rates.

Graduating seniors at CMS showed an increase in all testing areas, including national testing like the ACT.
