Catawba County chase leaves baby hurt

CATAWBA COUNTY, NC – A chase through Catawba County leaves several hurt, including a baby. A trooper with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol tried to pull over a Honda for speeding on Highway 321 on Tuesday, just before 2 p.m. The driver, Nazir Lucky, did not stop for the trooper.

He allegedly drove a few miles before getting off Highway 321 on Startown Road.  Lucky eventually lost control and hit a tree. He tried to run, but was arrested.

The 26-year-old, two other adults and a baby who were also in the car, were taken to the hospital. Officials say they suffered life-threatening injuries.

Lucky was booked into the Catawba County Detention Center and was given a $100,000 bond.
