Governor Cooper Working With GOP Leaders To Lure New Amazon HQ To Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — With Charlotte in the running for Amazon’s new headquarters, Governor Roy Cooper says he is ready to take on the competition when it comes to a bid.

The retail giant is taking bids for locations and the governor says he won’t back down. Governor Cooper says Amazon will be looking for a state with strong education.

Cooper was in Charlotte Wednesday afternoon to deliver school supplies to kids in need at Shamrock Gardens Elementary School.

The governor says he will be working with Republican leadership to make sure North Carolina has a strong incentive package to lure Amazon to the Queen City.
