CHINA GROVE, NC – A man is accused of shooting a neighbor’s friend after an argument in China Grove.
The shooting happened on Thursday at a home on Sylvester Road.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office says a woman at the home called 911 and said her neighbor, 61-year-old Michael Brown, had just shot a friend who was visiting her.
Deputies say Brown had an argument with 61-year-old old George Turnmire.
They say Brown then forced his way into the back door of the house and shot Turnmire two times in the back with a shotgun.
The woman who called 911 and four children who where inside the home locked themselves in a room.
Deputies say they found Brown on the porch of the home waiting for officers to arrive.
He is charged with murder and is being held without bond.
