“Hero rat” sets Guinness World Record

A “hero rat” set a Guinness World Record after detecting more landmines than any other rat.

The African giant rat named Ronan has uncovered more than 100 landmines in Cambodia.

An estimated 110 million landmines are still buried in more than 60 countries around the globe.

Rats like Ronan can search the area the size of a tennis court in a half hour. That would otherwise take a person with a metal detector up to four days.
