Students injured in school bus wreck released from hospital

CHESTER CO., S.C. – All students who were hurt in a school bus crash in Chester County have been released from the hospital. Officials with Lexington County School District Two made that announcement Monday.

The crash happened Thursday afternoon when three school buses carrying students from Pine Ridge Middle School were returning from a field trip in Charlotte. The district said a tire blew on one of the buses, causing it to hit a guardrail and flip over.

Several students were injured in the crash. 13-year-old Jose Gonzales, an eighth-grader, died in the wreck.
