CMPD police officer arrested, charged with driving under the influence
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer is on unpaid administrative leave after being arrested for driving under the influence in South Carolina.
Clover Police arrested Officer Stephen Brown just before 3 Monday afternoon. CMPD says Brown was off-duty at the time.
Chief Johnny Jennings released a statement about Brown’s arrest, saying in part, “Wearing the badge represents a commitment to integrity, responsibility and service—on-duty or off. When an officer violates that trust, it’s a betrayal of the profession.”
