UPDATE: Teen charged, victim identified after deadly shooting at Rock Hill gas station

ROCK HILL, SC – A 17-year-old boy is charged with murder after a deadly shooting in the parking lot of a gas station in Rock Hill.

Police were called to the QT on South Cherry Road around 11:30 Tuesday night.

Officers found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound. EMS rushed him to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The York County Coroner says the victim is Jayden Reid from Chester, South Carolina.

Police identified the suspected shooter as 17-year-old Carnell Mike of Rock Hill.

The Chester County Sheriff’s Office and State Law Enforcement Division helped find and arrest Mike in Richburg.

Mike is charged as an adult with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a person under 18.
