CMPD says they have arrested Kyle Maraghy, the Panthers’ fan seen in a disturbing video punching a man during the game Thursday evening.

A video has gone viral showing a Panthers’ fan punching a man in the face during the Thursday Night Football game in Charlotte.
WARNING: Viewer discretion is advised as the video shows a man being assaulted and also contains foul language.Β Β
The social media post says the man who threw the punch was standing for most of the game and man sitting down had repeatedly asked him to sit down.
Lance Emory, Executive Director of Risk Management for the Carolina Panthers, released this statement in regards to the incident:
βWe have reviewed video tape of the incident and have identified the perpetrator.Β We are working with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department to pursue charges to the fullest extent of the law.
βThe Carolina Panthers are committed to a fan-friendly and family-friendly stadium experience. The behavior exhibited by the perpetrator is unacceptable and will not be condoned at Bank of America Stadium.β
CMPD says they were informed at 11:17pm that a 62-year-old man has been assaulted.Β The victim told responding officers that the suspect, who was seated in front of him during the game, had been standing which led to an argument between them.
CMPD says the victim immediately sought medical treatment for his injuries.Β Officers were not able to locate the suspect inside the stadium.Β After being treated on the scene, police say the victim was released.
CMPD says they have reviewed the video, gathered information and is working to apprehend the suspect, who has been named as Kyle Adam Maraghy.
Maraghy has been involved in several assault cases in Mooresville.Β He was listed as an offender in two cases and a victim in two cases between September 2013-May 2015.
He also has a felony conviction for possession of schedule I drugs that dates back to 2010 in Watauga County.
