Missing Charlotte Teen Possibly Spotted Near Budget Motels
CHARLOTTE, NC – New details as the search for a Charlotte teenager continues. 14-year-old Nakia Williams has Asperger Syndrome.
Her family believes someone could be taking advantage of her social disability.
“I think she may be with some unsavory characters. And she’s only 14, she’s a baby, she doesn’t know anything about the streets,” explains Nikia’s mother Conchetta Stowe.
Williams disappeared from her Northwest Charlotte home September 7th.
But her mom says she’s recently been spotted near budget motels along Wilkinson Boulevard and Sugar Creek Road near I-85.
“It just churned my stomach. She’s not used to that type of.. she’s never been exposed to that type of environment, ever. And I’m fearful that she don’t know how to take care of herself in that environment,” Stowe says.
Around 20 family members and friends handed out over a thousand flyers as they helped search Sunday.
“Those are very seedy area and you know guys take the girls over there and that is.. traumatizing to me to think that my daughter would be exposed to things like that,” Stowe says.
One clue is a mysterious man seen with the teen in a recent Snapchat post. She says investigators want to know who he is.
“The guy on her Snapchat.. with inappropriate poses with her. And so I’m scared, scared for her safety,” Stowe says.
She says Nikia is very shy and timid and doesn’t make much eye contact.
“She may have the body of a lady but you know once she opens her mouth, you’ll know she’s a child. And so I just want to bring my baby home,” Stowe says.
