York County deputy arrested for animal mistreatment

A York County deputy has been charged with felony ill-treatment of animals. 

Agents arrested deputy Amarianne Mitchell on Friday after investigators say she left her pet dog outside for several days without adequate water, food, or shelter.

Deputy Mitchell has been placed on administrative leave without pay pending an internal review.

Mitchell has served as a deputy for two years.
