MONROE, NC – Two teenage car theft suspects are in custody thanks to Monroe Police K9 Narco.
An officer spotted a stolen Toyota Tacoma on Sunset Drive around 3:30 Sunday morning and followed the truck to a dead end on Keswick Place where the driver and a passenger got out and ran.
Police say K9 Narco followed the scent of the suspects through the woods and a field for a mile before finding them.
The 14-year-old and 17-year-old suspects were both released to their parents.
They will be charged through the Department of Juvenile Justice for larceny of a motor vehicle and resist, delay and obstruct.
