Suspended Ardrey Kell HS principal announces she will retire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – One day after it was announced the principal of Ardrey Kell High School was suspended with pay, we have learned that Jamie Brooks now plans to retire.

In a letter sent to families, Brooks wrote in part, “It is with my deepest sadness that I write to you to share that I have made a decision that is best for me to retire effective June 1.”

She did not say why she decided to retire, and the district did not release any information about why she had been suspended.
