Attempted Murder Charges For Men Who Beat, Robbed Woman Near Cheraw

CHERAW, S.C.-  Two men have been charged with Attempted Murder after brutally assaulting and robbing a woman near Cheraw.

On October 17th, authorities say Daquon Harrington, 22, and Darreus Anthony Isaac, 17, approached the victim and demanded she give them money on path that connects a convenience store on Highway 1 to the Dizzy Gillespie apartment complex.

The victim refused and Harrington punched her, knocking her to the ground. Cell phone video shows Harrington then begin to beat the victim over the head with a wooden 4×4 with nails in it more than 10 times, which resulted in severe head trauma.

Harrington finished by leaping and landing on the victim’s back with both feet, before the suspects left the victim lying in blood along the path.

Once the suspects left, the victim was able to make it to an apartment on Inglish Road, where she placed a call for medical attention.  She was taken to McLeod’s Hospital in Florence for head trauma treatment.

After receiving video of the attack, investigators arrested Harrington and Issac for Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery and Possession of a Weapon During Commission of  a Violent Crime.

Darreus Isaac’s mother, Janice Evans, 38, was also arrested and charged with hindering the investigation and failing to cooperate with authorities in attempt to help Isaac avoid apprehension.
