Citizen Helps Detain Breaking And Entering Suspect In Northwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —  A citizen who witnessed cars being broken into in a Charlotte neighborhood helped detain a suspect before the CMPD arrived.

The incident occurred on October 23, 2017 around 1;49 a.m., in the 7800 block of Buddy Holly Road in northwest Charlotte.

The male witness stated he saw two suspects get out of a white Chevy Impala that was accompanied by a Mitsubishi Galant and enter several vehicles in the driveway’s of residences on the street.

One of the suspects Da’Niquae Osborne, 16, approached another home on Buddy Holly drive, when the witness got out of his vehicle and attempted to detain Osborne, who began running back toward the suspect vehicle, along with the other suspect.

Osborne ran around the neighborhood but was eventually caught by the witness and walked back to the scene of the incident, where they awaited CMPD officers.

Osborne was arrested and charged with two counts of Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle and Misdemeanor Larceny.
