Pilot and passenger killed in small plane crash

HARNETT CO., N.C. – A pilot and passenger are dead after a small plane crash in Harnett County.

The crash happened about two and a half hours east of Charlotte.

The plane took off from Raleigh Executive Jetport and was only in the air for minutes.

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating what caused the crash.
