A small mechanical fire was quickly put out Saturday at Carowinds.
The fire was first reported around noon. It happened at the Kiddy Hawk ride and was quickly extinguished by park personnel.
Fortunately, the ride was not in operation at the time and no injuries were reported, park officials say. First responders were dispatched to the amusement park out of an abundance of caution.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
