Police Seek Vehicle Of Interest In Hit-And-Run Death Of Pedestrian In Wheel Chair

The Latest:

Police are looking for a vehicle of interest in the hit-and-run death of 46-year-old Dandy Eugene Duncan.

Detectives are looking for a 2006-2013 Silver Chevrolet Impala.. The vehicle will have tinted windows, and will be displaying a 30 day tag or an out of state paper tag.  This vehicle will also have damage on the left front.  Parts of the headlight were collected at the crime scene.

Police say Duncan was in a wheel chair attempting to cross W. Sugar Creek Road at the driveway of Americare Pediatrics when he struck by an unknown vehicle.

The CMPD says Duncan was wearing dark clothing and his wheel chair did not have reflectors.

Duncan was transported to Carolinas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 2:32 a.m.

No suspect or suspect  vehicle has been identified but police say the suspect vehicle will have front damage to the headlights and the remaining headlight parts will be sun faded.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run accident on Sugar Creek Road early Saturday morning.

The accident happened near the intersection of Sugar Creek Road and Argyle Drive at about 12:40 a.m.

One person was killed and police are looking for the driver and vehicle involved.
