NCDHHS confirms 1st case of measles in state this year

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has confirmed the first case of measles in the state this year.

They say a child got sick while traveling to Forsyth and Guilford Counties from another country, where measles outbreaks have recently been reported. To protect the family’s privacy, officials aren’t releasing information about them.

The State Health Department is recommending anyone over a year-old to get vaccinated.
