AAA activating ‘Tow to Go’ for 4th of July weekend

AAA is activating “Tow to Go” in Charlotte for the 4th of July weekend, as the Auto Club Group prepares to assist nearly 700,000 stranded drivers this week.

Tow to Go is a free, confidential service, offering a ride for drivers who find themselves too impaired to drive.

For Tow to Go service, call (855) 2-TOW-2-GO or (855) 286-9246. When someone calls, a tow truck will be dispatched to take the individual and their vehicle to a safe location within a 10-miles radius. It is available for both AAA members and non-members.

“By offering Tow to Go, AAA helps ensure there’s no excuse for impaired driving,” said Tiffany Wright, spokesperson for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Plan ahead, but if your plans change, we’re here as a last resort to help you get home safely.”

The program is offered in Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, North Dakota, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Denver, Colorado, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Fort Wayne/South Bend, Indiana.

Tow to Go is active from 6 p.m. Friday, July 4 to 6 a.m. Monday, July 7. Appointments cannot be scheduled in advance.
