HICKORY, N.C. — Hickory Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating an alleged murder suspect.
The incident was reported just before 7pm on July 4th after 30-year-old Mary Ervin, of Hickory, was found dead inside a hotel room at the Deluxe Inn, according to a news release.
Investigators say they identified 30-year-old James Houser as the suspect in the homicide.

Police say they obtained a warrant for Houser but have not located him at this time. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Hickory Police Department at 828-328-5551.
