Two Men Accused Of Stealing 60 Cartons Of Cigarettes From Salisbury Convenience Store

SALISBURY, N.C. — Police are investigating after two men robbed a Salisbury convenience store for 60 cartons of cigarettes.

Investigators say the incident happened Saturday morning just before 3am at the Pop Shop at 1831.  Police say one of the suspects grabbed two boxes that contained 60 cartons of cigarettes from the office area of the convenience store and attempted to leave the store with the boxes.

Police say the clerk confronted the suspect and he dropped the boxes, pulled up his shirt and implied that he had a gun.  The clerk reportedly backed away and the suspect left the store with the cigarettes.

Another suspect was waiting in a dark colored Chevrolet Impala, according to a news release.  The suspects left the parking lot traveling east on W. Innes Street.  The first suspect is described as a black male with dreads that have blond tips and a medium build.  He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, dark green jeans and white sneakers.

The second suspect is described as a black male wearing a grey hoodie and dark jeans.  Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
